About Us

We are members of Dr. Gell’s Current Topics in Biology class (BI410) at Choate Rosemary Hall.  Choate Rosemary Hall is a college preparatory boarding high school in Wallingford, CT founded in 1890.

As a class, we developed this web site as our major term end project.  Three and a half weeks ago, we started the process which has included:

1. Creating a calendar marking due dates for in-class and out of class assignments..
2. Determining and assigning current biology topics for each of the 7 students in the class.
3. Completing library research in order to become local experts on our topics.
4. Wring an article based on our research.
5. Creating a media piece (video, podcast, screencast) that complements our written article.
6. Ongoing peer review and teacher review of our articles allowing for an iterative writing process.
7. Learning how to work as a group towards a common goal: communicating, supporting, negotiating, and compromising.
8. Completing a project the quality and scope of which we could not have done had we not worked as a team.
